Eating Disorder Awareness Week

The Eating Disorder Awareness Week (EDAW) is commemorated across Canada to educate the public about the impacts and dangers of eating disorders, as well as to support those affected by eating disorders.

With the highest death rate (10%) of all mental illnesses, eating disorders are a major public health issue. Approximately 1 million Canadians would meet the diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder. This year, for EDAW, let us all help cultivate a safe environment for people to talk about this issue. We can all help inspire action to reduce stigma around those with eating disorders and increase access to intervention for them.
