Pro-bono treatments to survivors of sexual assault
Samantha Rocha is an RMT and a healthcare clinic owner in Victoria, BC, offering pro-bono treatments to survivors of sexual assault which are focused on re-introducing safe touch.
- As an RMT, Samantha is a regulated healthcare professional with a criminal record check and first aid/CPR-C. Additionally, Samantha has an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and ethics. Samantha is comfortable treating patients of all backgrounds and abilities, and more than willing to provide references.
- These treatments are completely free. They are 20-30 minutes in length and focus on reintroduction of safe touch that follows the individual boundaries.
- Every single thing is taken into consideration from lighting to position on the table to the degree of being clothed - nothing is off-limit as long as it allows a survivor to begin the journey of feeling safe again.
While this service is not advertised on the clinic website due to only being offered by Samantha herself, you can find out more about the clinic’s atmosphere and other services here: www.betatherapeutics.ca
PLEASE NOTE: These treatments offer a valuable step in the healing process after a traumatic event. Treatment in a safe space with a registered healthcare professional allows the individual to be in control of their boundaries and prepare to understand and advocate for them in all of their future healthy relationships.
